The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) kicked off its September “Workplace Wellness” initiative. Throughout the month of September, APTA’s “Move Forward” campaign will focus on the prevention and treatment of workplace injuries.

The initiative will use social media to help the desk-bound combat a sedentary workday by providing exercises that can be done while sitting at your desk or in your office space. We will also provide tips to the travel-weary on how correct body mechanics can promote safe and healthy travel.

Check out this launch video on YouTube where Patrice Winter, PT, MS, FAAOMPT demonstrates exercises you can do at your desk to increase blood flow throughout your workday. There is also a series of other videos supporting this initiative that will be released throughout the month of September.
