De La Salle Health Sciences Institute – College of Rehabilitation Sciences is cordially inviting you and your teachers as it offers a free seminar for those inclined in handling students with emotional problems in school and those who are interested in the use of picture exchange method for communication. Teachers of the public and private sectors are enjoined to attend including those in the allied health professions who are involved in the interdisciplinary management of children with special needs.
The speaker will be MS. GLORIA BARBER who finished her Bachelor of Science in Special Education at York College, achieved Masters of Education at LIU Brooklyn Campus 1997 and is practicing as a special education teacher for 20 years. Presently she works as a Lead Teacher at PS4K@72, a cluster school of District 75 of NYC Department of Education. District 75 is the organization under New York City Department of Education which oversees ALL Special Education Schools in the USA. Ms. Barbers is also a Chapter Leader of the United Federation of Teachers, a union of professionals which also includes not just teachers but also PT, OT, Nurses, counselors, speech teachers.
