Floortime is a systematic way of working with children with autism, to help them achieve appropriate developmental skills. Play is utilized to help children master the building blocks of relating, communicating and thinking. Crucial in this method is the parents’ and caregivers’ understanding of the technique, their cooperation and compliance.
Ms. Jessica Miller, OTR/L will be conducting the seminar to facilitate understanding of this much sought after philosophy in helping children with autism and related disorders. Ms. Miller, an occupational therapist by profession, graduated magna cum laude from Boston University in 1999. She trained and practiced in Osten and Associates in Illinois, USA, a facility where occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech pathologists, social workers and psychologists, use the Floortime approach in all of their treatment sessions.
