Want to make a difference in children’s school performance, and help boost their engagement and excitement with school? Handwriting tutoring camps provide a fun-filled, hands-on environment where children can overcome obstacles and develop important skills they need to succeed.

The following topics will be covered:

– Building a Session: costs, tools, resources
– Getting clients: marketing, referrals
– Designing effective sessions: evaluation, remediation, best practices

Presenters

Christina Bretz, OTR/L
In addition to being an occupational therapist, Christina is an HWT Level 1 Certified Handwriting Specialist. She has extensive pediatric experience providing services to children in schools, early intervention, and private tutoring. She has a handwriting tutoring business where she sees children from 6 years of age and up who are experiencing difficulty with handwriting.

Kerri Bailey, OTR/L
Kerri Bailey is an occupational therapist who has presented for HWT for 9 years. Kerri has 22 years of experience including school based and private practice. Kerri is currently the co-owner of Child’s Play Therapy Center which provides multi-disciplinary therapy services to individuals as well as to public and private schools in the Birmingham area. In addition to HWT certification, Kerri is an assistive technology specialist and is certified in Therapeutic Listening.

Dr. Maria Teresa Gustilo-Villasor obtained a Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Psychology and a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling Psychology at the Ateneo de Manila University. She had further training in Clinical Child Psychology at the St. John’s Hospital, Santa Monica, California and studies in Clinical Psychology at the California School of Professional Psychology at Berkley and the New School of Social Research, New York.

She is a faculty member of the Graduate School of Counselor Education, De La Salle University, Manila, the Asian Social Institute, the Center for Family Ministries, and the East Asian Pastoral Institute in Ateneo. She has a private practice in Child and Adolescent Psychology, Psychological and Neuropsychological Assessment and Evaluation, Psychotherapy, Stress Management/Critical Incident Stress Debriefing.
