When & Where
17-18 April 2010
Manila, Philippines (exact venue to be confirmed)

Postural exercises have significantly evolved through time. From the simple planar exercises, to a more advance functional trainings. Names like Robin McKenzie, Pete Egoscue, Mary Bond, Esther Gokhale and others are now becoming more synonymous with better and more efficient exercises. These exercises have proven their worth and have become more sophisticated through the years. And once you study, see, feel and hear the works of these exercise , you’ll realize that there are more to them that just protocol.

Sometimes, for a practicing therapist, it is not enough just to how to theoretically perform these exercises. It is highly important the reasons why and how to execute them properly. With proper execution, the effects are maximized and the probability for injuries is lessened.

With this seminar, we will learn what are the new ways in effective exercise prescription and how to properly execute different postural and functional exercises that would address common postural concerns like back pain, neck pain, shoulder dysfunctions, TMJ and even some neurological symptoms. More so, we will have a better understanding of which exercises would have better results if properly combined.

Registration Fee

Early Bird (until 20 March 2010): PhP 2,000
Regular Rate (after 20 March 2010): PhP 3,000
Students (4th years and interns): PhP 2,000 PESOS

BONUS: Early bird registrants will be given CD/DVD copies of selected exercises and techniques (first come, first serve basis and while copies last).

Surely this is something worth more considering than wedding favors. For inquiries, please contact Mr Leomil Adriano at (63) 9159096652 or leomil_mspt@yahoo.com.

Thursday, 25 February 2010, 2:00 PM – 1:00 PM EST / Friday, 26 February 2010, 1:00 AM – 2:00 AM CST (Philippine Time)

Linda Hodgdon, publisher of AutismFamilyOnline.com, will be interviewing Eric Chessen, the leading expert in Autism Fitness, about the importance of fitness for individuals with autism and how it affects behavior, social skills and life routines.

Do you have students who spend too much time in passive activities such as watching TV or playing too many video games?

Many of our students don’t have the athletic or social skills to participate successfully in typical sports opportunities. But that should not keep them from successfully taking part in fitness activities.

Eric will share specific ways to help students achieve fitness goals, whether or not they have strong athletic capabilities.

Some of the questions discussed will be:
1. How and why does fitness affect social skills and behavior?
2. What is the difference between fitness and sports?
3. Why can sports be difficult for students with ASD?
4. What are the most important goals for fitness?
5. What is the best way to integrate fitness into a student’s life?
and lots more. . .

We will be answering some of your top questions about helping your students achieve health and fitness. Eric will provide specific strategies to make fitness activities fun and enjoyable for your students.

Don’t worry if your schedule does not allow you to attend at the time of the webinar. Everyone who signs up will be sent a link after the program so you can attend on your own time schedule. But you must be signed up to receive this link.

I have received this letter from the NBCOT’s president/CEO, Mr Paul Grace.

Medicare Part B therapy caps expired on December 31, 2009 and went back into place on January 1, 2010 eliminating the exceptions process. This has come about as a result of Congressional failure to act on health reform in a timely manner.

Your help is needed NOW to force Congress to address this important issue.

It is imperative that ACTION to repeal the cap or extend the exceptions process be taken IMMEDIATELY. Extending the exceptions process will prevent the rationing of care for clients in dire need of occupational therapy services.

Contact your Congressional representatives today and urge them to take action on the Cap because thousands of Medicare beneficiaries are currently reaching the Cap. You can access the name(s) and contact information for your Congressional representative(s) by clicking here. You can also call your Members of Congress using the Capitol Switchboard at: (202) 224-3121 and tell them Congress needs to extend the therapy cap exceptions process that expired on December 31, 2009.

So before you go and read on ephedra diet pill, make sure to do your part and contribute to this worthy cause first.
