Sensory Integration: The essentials to understanding the theory, neuroscience and research
Presenters
Professor Anita Bundy and Professor Shelly Lane
When & Where
Sydney Fri 1st – Sun 3rd June
Melbourne Fri 15th – Sun 17th June
Any therapist working with children knows that disrupted sensory processing impacts the lives of children with a variety of disorders such as ADHD, ASD, dyspraxia, cerebral palsy etc.
This course gives you the opportunity to gain the foundational knowledge needed to practice successfully in the area of sensory processing. Without a solid foundation of SI theory, neuroscience and research, it is difficult to truly understand how to incorporate SI into your practice.
Only too often are therapists challenged by colleagues, medical professionals or educational staff to describe what SI is all about. Having a solid foundation of knowledge will enable therapists to explain in detail how sensory processing disrupts function.
Anita Bundy (based in Australia) and Shelly Lane (based in the USA) are both editors of two highly acclaimed paediatric textbooks: Sensory Integration: Theory & Practice (2nd ed.) and more recently, Kids Can Be Kids: An Occupations Based Approach.
This course is a must for professional development for 2012 and is a rare opportunity to learn from two of the most prominent OT researchers and educators!
